If you are looking for a web site Polish Prisoners of War 1981-1982, you are definately in the right place. Stowarzyszenie Internowani.pl (Society of Polish Prisoners of War 1981-1982) has been established in Poland and a few years ago had extended its activities to the European countries, Australia, USA and Canada. We are representing former Polish Prisoners of martial law in Poland from all over the world, but we also welcome all those who are sharing our values and/or care about this part of Polish heritage. Our official web site www.internowani.pl, administrated by Krzysztof Stasiewski, recently recorded significant number of hits, exceeding 600 000 visitors, and becoming one of the most popular ones. Recently we decided to open bilingual web sites operated outside Poland and Polishprisoners.com is just a beginning of more to come. We invite all former political prisoners, their families and all the people who are interested in this subject to cooperate with us. Our web site is still under construction but we hope it will soon become very active and as attractive as its mother site. Marek Konka is doing tremendous job for our Society in the USA by spreading and collecting information, lobbying in Polish parliament and much, much more. Last year the Ministry of Foreign Affair in Poland had signed two bilateral treaties, with Dominion of Canada and United States of America about combining years of service in two countries (Poland and Canada or Poland and USA) for those not eligible for a pension plan in one of the countries only. Those agreements are extremely important for some Polish emigrants, since there are approximately about 70 thousand people having the same problem (less than required years worked in one country but enough after combining service in both) and most of them are living outside Poland. We want to find those people, unless they’ll find us of course, and help them to apply for their earned benefits. We will publish all information about our Society with emphasizing problems important for Polish immigrants living in North America.  We look forward a wide participation from all our viewers and from all who want to work for common goods with us. We can’t predict all the topics and issues we’ll discuss in our site but we can assure you what we are NOT going to talk about. Like our mother site, we are not affiliated with any political orientation; we our open for everyone’s insight regardless their political preferences and without taking sides. Soon we are going to imply a general guidance for our participants about using our site. Please e-mail us and we’ll read all your messages, we’ll replay to all those which include your real name and address, and we’ll publish the most interesting ones. Once again welcome to the site Polish Prisoners 1981-1982 and make yourself at home.
